Current Awareness

We have a variety of ways to help you keep up-to-date in your areas of interest, clinical and non-clinical.

Updates

Updates are emailed twice a year and provide a summary of the evidence across broader subject areas. Some Bulletins are sent monthly and contain recent relevant publications. To receive any of the Updates or Bulletins directly to your email inbox, click the button below. You can also view the latest editions of all the Updates below.

Social Media

Social media can be useful for keeping up-to-date with general professional and personal interests. Set up an account on sites like Bluesky or Mastadon, and ‘follow’ organisations and individuals with similar interests. Each time they post you will see it on your homepage.

Visit our Digital Literacy page for more information on assessing information you see online.

Journal Database Alerts

Create and run an evidence search in one of the databases (e.g. Medline, Cinahl, etc). When you save the search you can create an alert. You will then receive automatic updates to the search results at regular intervals. For complex clinical or professional interests this is a good way to keep your updates very specific.

Podcasts

Below are some podcasts about general medicine as a subject. Some of our Toolkits also link to specific podcasts – please note that the library has not assessed the content of all the podcasts.

Podcasted featuring East Cheshire staff

Listen to an episode of The Sim Tech Podcast featuring Cristina, Matt and Scott from our Sim Team.

Listen to an episode of The Research Room discussing the DIDACT Study, which the Trust is a part of.
