Desert Island Books

Illustration of a person reading a book on a desert island while leaning against a palm tree.

After running the Library 6 Book Reading Challenge for 10 years, we have decided to mark this year, The National Year of Reading, with something a bit different.

The Library is launching a Desert Island Books campaign, which will be open for all staff and students at ECT to view and contribute to.

The National Year of Reading is a campaign encouraging people to read for pleasure, in whatever form or genre that might take, with the tagline “if you’re into it, read into it”. Reading can reduce stress, broaden horizons, and improve vocabulary, memory, and empathy.
