The Library and Knowledge Service has a variety of services on offer to help inform your decision-making and equip you with the latest evidence.
Join the library

Borrowing
You can borrow up to 12 items for 4 weeks. Most book loans are automatically renewed 5 times, unless reserved by another user.
Inter-library loans
Any books or journal articles not available from the Library (print and online) are usually available on inter-library loan (ILL). Find out how to request an ILL at the link below.
Fiction and wellbeing
There is a collection of fiction books available for you to borrow. We welcome donations of recently published fiction.
We also have a Wellbeing collection, which includes health stories and self-help books.
Computers and equipment
Computers are available for trust staff and learners to drop-in and use 24/7, and we have a number of laptops available to borrow for online training and courses. Webcam and headsets are also available, as well as accessibility equipment including colour overlays, magnifier sheets, and alternative keyboards and mice.
Visit us
24/7 access with your Trust ID badge. Items can be borrowed, renewed and returned using the self-service machine. Study and computing facilities are also available 24/7. Individual pods which can be booked in advance through UBook or by asking a member of staff.
Staffed: Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm. Unstaffed weekends and public holidays.

Evidence searching
We provide evidence and literature search services, free of charge, to save you time and ensure that you have the information you need.

Updates and bulletins
We produce regular updates with the latest evidence on a variety of different subjects.
Additionally, KnowledgeShare is our targeted current awareness service. Alerts are emailed out every fortnight and your profile can be updated as your interests change.
Access to resources

We provide training on all of our resources; we also run a number of different courses, including:

The Library and Knowledge Service works to the following standards to deliver a high quality, responsive service to all its users.
The library aims to fulfill the following service requests within the time frame detailed below:

Evidence searches: deadline agreed with user
Enquiries: 3 working days
Stock processing: 10 working days
