Athens
Athens is a single login that gives you access to a lot of our resources and saves you from having to remember too many passwords. Athens accounts are free to set up and use; visit our Athens page to find out more or click the link below to register for an account. If you’ve previously had an account at another trust, you can log in and transfer this to East Cheshire.

There are a few different tools that you can use to search for books, journal articles, and other literature.
Library Catalogue
Search our catalogue of books, ebooks, and equipment, as well as the regional North West catalogue.
NHS Knowledge Hub
The Hub can search for books, journal articles, and more across a variety of sources in one search bar.
Databases
We provide access to a variety of databases, including Medline and CINAHL, across two platforms, Ovid and EBSCO. Find out more about these databases at the link below.
PubMed
If you prefer to use PubMed, use the link below to also include the library journal holdings in your search results.
Trip Pro
If you prefer to use Trip, log in with your Athens account to access advanced searching.

An evidence-based clinical decision support tool that you can access through the start menu on any Trust computer or laptop.
BMJ Best Practice
An evidence-based clinical decision support tool available to all NHS staff in England. Access using the link below.
Anatomy TV
Access 3D anatomical models alongside dissection and clinical imaging. Sign in using your Athens account.
Royal Marsden
The Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures is available as a full text online. Access using your Athens account.
Cochrane Library
Contains the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews and Central Register of Controlled Trials. Log in using Athens.
BMJ Learning
Access online courses accredited by professional bodies and gain CPD points that can go towards your professional accreditation.
BMJ Case Reports
A journal of peer-reviewed clinical case reports. Search for reports or see more information about submitting a report at the links below.

Prescribing resources
Medusa
Medusa is the Injectable Medicines Guides used at East Cheshire NHS Trust and is available on all trust computers via a link in the start menu. Medusa is only available on computers that are connected to the network.
BNF and BNFC
The British National Formulary (BNF) and British National Formulary for Children (BNFC) contains information on the selection, prescribing, dispensing and administration of medicines.
The Maudsley
The Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines in Psychiatry is available in print in the library and as a full-text online. Follow the link below and log in with your Athens account.
